Plymouth move up three places - 25/01/06

I wish I lived in Plymouth

Then I would have been able to watch as Argyle beat Leicester City 1-0 tonight. This win takes them three places up the Championship league ending up one place above Southampton and on the same points as Coventry City.
Of course Argyle still have one game in hand over most of the other teams in the league and another win will see them up with the likes of Stoke City. who at present are on the same goal difference.

Plymouth Argyle's next match is not until a weeks time, on the 31st January, giving them plenty of time to rest up and preserve their energy. Their opponents on that day will be Southampton, who have two games before they travel to Home park. Tomorrow they meet Crystal Palace and then on Saturday they play Leicester City in the FA cup.

Update 25th January

Plymouth's win final straw for Leicester

It seems that Plymouth's win over Leicester City was the last straw for the club and it was announced today that the club's manager, Craig Levein is to leave the club with immediate effect. Along with Craig, coaches Peter Houston and Kenny Black will also be leaving the club. Assistant manager Rob Kelly will take charge of the team in the short term with assistance from goalkeeping coach Mike Stowell.
